We always, always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS!!!! prefer vacationing without other people’s children running amok. Luckily, Lomani Island Resort (a short helicopter or ferry ride away from the airport) keeps the kids away. It’s romantic, peaceful and several of the beachfront bungalows feature their own plunge pools and lush yards that lead right to the beach and ocean.
If it’s good enough for Neil Patrick Harris and his family, it’s more than good enough for us! This ultra-luxe property (pictured at top of story, too) features massive, multi-room homes for the rich and/or famous, but also some gorgeous multi-room villas. Nanuku Resort Fiji’s spacious retreats include their own pool (some with ocean views), indoor/outdoor showers, soaking tubs and several with ocean views.
Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa is massive, with several buildings, numerous restaurants, multiple pools, a spa and, well, just about anything you could want. It features the same Fijian hospitality as the other two resorts, but the large, multi-story buildings themselves don’t quite have the same charm of the villas and bungalows at the other two resorts. There’s tons of stuff to do for the entire family, you can upgrade to rooms with Waitui Beach Club access, and it’s an ideal location to spend a couple of nights before you fly home because it’s way closer to the airport than Nanuku Resort Fiji or Lomani Island Resort. It’s a place to decompress from all the relaxation you’ve been doing prior.
