Meet Forrest, a six-year-old, 68-pound gentleman with a soft smile, soulful eyes and a heart that feels about twice the size of his body. This handsome mixed-breed sweetheart is waiting at the Dallas Animal Care Center, hoping to meet the family who will appreciate his curiosity, his gentle nature and his easy charm. Falling for Forrest is easy. It happens fast.
Forrest brings a little light to every day. His expressive face always looks like he is asking, “Where to next,” because this boy loves to explore. A slow stroll or a relaxed jog both sound perfect to him. On his Borrow a Buddy trip to White Rock Lake, he showed off his calm, friendly personality while taking in the sights, greeting dogs and people with confidence and kindness and savoring every breeze.
His hello routine is adorable. A soft tail wag, a warm lean and a gentle interest in whoever is in front of him. Forrest is polite, patient and impressively well-mannered. He is treat-motivated in the cutest way, always ready to sit sweetly and wait for a cue or a well-earned snack.
Underneath his curiosity is a deeply affectionate soul. Forrest loves belly rubs, quiet moments and simply being close to his people. He is loyal, steady and ready to give his whole heart to a family who wants a companion they can count on.
Forrest is one of the SPCA of Texas Longtime Lovables, which means he has been in the shelter for more than 60 days. His adoption fee is zero. You can meet him any day from noon to 6 p.m. at the SPCA of Texas Dallas Animal Care Center, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, 75212. He is neutered, microchipped and current on all vaccinations.
If you are looking for a faithful companion who brings joy to your daily adventures and warmth to your quiet nights, Forrest is your guy. He is waiting with a smile and a whole lot of love.
