Where To Eat This Weekend: Brya Zan In Plano

Next time you’re in the hinterland otherwise known as Plano, there’s a new place to fuel up on some incredible Thai cuisine.

Launched this past August, Brya Zan Thai Noodle + Brew will make you wish you had more reasons to go to Plano. (Although the food’s good enough to make any excuse for an excursion.)

Braden and Yasmin Wages, the amazing and adorable husband-wife team behind Malai Kitchen (another favorite of the He Said Dallas team), decided to test out a fast-casual concept that doesn’t skimp on quality for the sake of quick service.

All entrées ring up at only $11.50 ($12.50 for curries), making the affordability is as off the charts as the flavors. Pair Malai Kitchen house-brewed beers with your meal, or try a signature frozen Mai Tai for something a little sweet and a whole lot potent.

One of the best perks of dining at Brya Zan is the ability to completely customize your food.

When you walk into Brya Zan, you can either step up to a kiosk (the easiest way to see all your customization options) or order from a real-live person if you’re as starving for human connection as you are drunken noodles.

Find the dishes you want, then click on the customize button and wait for the magic to happen. You’ll find dozens of add-on options, many only 25¢ to add, whether it’s shitake mushrooms, broccoli, whole peanuts or fresh spinach. You can also easily remove unwanted items from your meal (such as cilantro, the devil’s weed).

Every rice and noodle dish shines, but it’s the curries (yellow and Panang) that’ll lure us back to Plano.

Start every meal with the wildly addictive seasoned shoestring taro chips. And end each visit with at least one chocolate, peanut and coconut cookie, easily one of the best desserts around.

Brya Zan proves that high-quality cuisine can live in harmony with technology and efficient service for a uniquely enjoyable dining experience.

The concept can’t come to Dallas soon enough. (Trust us, we already begged Yasmin to make it happen!)
