Only two days left in January, but it’s never too late for the first CinéWilde at the Texas Theatre film pick of the month!
The group’s first screening of 2026 will be tonight’s Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019), a French period piece about a clandestine lesbian romance.
To bring the film’s art theme to you live and in person, the event begins with a pre-show Q&A with fabulous local queer photographer, Debra Gloria.
After the movie screens, stick around for a live, pop-up sketching session where you can do some figure drawing inspired by Portrait of a Lady on Fire.
CinéWilde will provide the canvas and charcoal, so you’ll get everything you need to leave the theater with a work of art.
Way better than leaving with only popcorn kernels in your teeth.
