SPCA Pet of the Week: Peanut Is Sleek, Social & Always in the Know

Meet Peanut, a two-year-old black cat with a glossy coat, bright eyes and a personality that shines just as much as his looks. At 16 pounds, he’s a solid, handsome guy with a playful spirit and a sweet, easy confidence that makes him a joy to be around.

Peanut is the kind of cat who likes to be in the know. Whatever you’re doing, he’s curious about it and more than happy to check it out for himself. New spaces, interesting sounds, your daily routine, Peanut wants a front-row seat. He has an upbeat presence that makes ordinary moments feel more fun just by being part of them.

He loves to play, stretch his legs and then settle in nearby, content to be part of the action without running the show. Peanut is social without being overwhelming and affectionate without being demanding. He brings warmth, personality and the occasional adorable surprise that makes a house feel like a real home.

Peanut is also at a great age. His personality is fully formed, but he still has plenty of playful spark. He’s past the tiny kitten chaos stage and focused on what really matters now: bonding with his people, enjoying his space and soaking up the comfort of a real home.

Peanut is ready to start his next chapter. His adoption fee is $100, but this weekend only, February 7 and 8, his fee is reduced to $60. You can meet Peanut any day from noon to 6 p.m. at the SPCA of Texas Dallas Animal Care Center, 2400 Lone Star Drive, 75212. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.

If you’re looking for a sweet, curious companion who likes to stay involved and bring a little joy to your everyday routine, Peanut might be your guy.
