If the headline’s not clue enough, maybe you better hold onto your meatballs.

Because today, the first-ever IKEA in Dallas proper has its grand opening at The Shops at Park Lane.

Our college-era selves couldn’t be more thrilled. We remember renting a U-Haul to drive to the closest IKEA in Houston to furnish our first home.

Not only was that a long, long day of driving and shopping with an overnight in a cheap motel in the Woodlands, it was another two full days of furniture assembly.

So, to now have an affordable, stylish bounty of sleek designs within a 20-minute drive sounds like pure heaven.

To be clear, this smaller-concept IKEA clocks in at 63,000 square feet, a fraction of the 310,000-square-foot campus up in Frisco.

But what it lacks in retail sprawl, it makes up for in convenience. More than 3,200 items will be available for immediate procurement, so you can do a quick spruce-up or full interior makeover without ever leaving the Dallas city limits.

And if you’ve got a craving for some lingonberry jam, they’ve got you covered on that front, too.
