These Boots Were Made For Kinkin’

The boots are back!

Once upon a time, Broadway brought together Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein for an epic pairing that yielded one of the most entertaining and fun musicals to ever hit the stage.

Or tour the nation.

Kinky Boots, the 2013 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical, returns to Dallas for three short days and four performances at the Winspear Opera House and we can’t wait to see it again when it stomps back into town on April 23.

Inspired by a true story about the unlikely combination of factory workers, drag queens and slutty shoes, Kinky Boots is heartwarming and hilarious.

Achieving greatness despite extraordinary odds stacked against you may be a common theme in musicals, but this one has just enough edginess that keeps us from rolling our eyes.

And dancing in the aisles instead.

The best time to do that will be during the touring production’s official Pride Night on Thursday, April 23 at 8:00 p.m. Use code KBPRIDE to buy one ticket and save 50% off the second.

Plan to get to the theater early for pre-show festivities, which begin at 6:30 p.m. and include the Turtle Creek Chorale performing, photo ops, meet-and-greet opportunities with members of the North Texas LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce and, of course, even more gays than normally show up to musicals!

Wear your kinkiest boots and you’ll fit right in.

(Apologies in advance to your naughty Crocs.)
