Me, Myself & Wife

A dramatic black and white portrait of a person with a concerned expression, holding their hand to their mouth, wearing a pearl necklace.

Hot on the sensible heels of B.J. Cleveland’s starring role in the one-person show, Application Pending, Theatre Three’s Theatre Too stage hosts another hefty cast of characters—portrayed once again by a single person.

It’s the return of I Am My Own Wife, winner of both the Tony Award for Best Play and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama for playwright Doug Wright.

Starring Blake Hackler, the play tells the true story of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, a transgender German woman who lived through some of the world’s most tumultuous events during her life from 1928 to 2002. She became an LGBTQ+ icon through her struggles, perseverance and ultimate survival.

This intimate production dives deep into her life and the people who shaped it most.

Staged at Theatre Too, you’re guaranteed an incredible seat that puts you up close and personal with Hackler as each character comes to life.

Tickets are $40, and the show runs from Thursday, October 15 through Sunday, November 1. Short Q&A sessions cap off performances from Sunday, October 18 through the end of the run if you wish to learn more about the show.

It’ll be an amazing night (or afternoon) of theater, so we hope to see you there.
